The intent of the ministries of the Laurel Hill Baptist Church is to provide an opportunity for participants involved to develop a closer relationship with each other through fellowship, a deeper understanding of discipleship, and to become passionate about God’s heart for the lost though participation in outreach at the local, national and international levels. The major focus of the missions of the ministries is to glorify God by becoming united and therefore strengthening the Body of Christ for enhancing the Kingdom of God through relevant biblical teaching, positive role modeling and esteem building. The following ministries are active under the leadership of the pastor.

The pastoral staff provides support to the pastor and congregation by working alongside the pastor to accomplish the goals and activities of the church in relationship to its vision.
Min. Alice Morgan-Brown Church Clerk and Financial Advisor
While the church clerk is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the pastoral staff and coordinating tasks with the church, her ministry extends beyond the clerical aspects. She also teaches Sunday school, attends Bible study, provides support to the finance ministry, and was recently called to the Ministry .
Deac. Jesse Johnson, Sr.- Chair of the Deacons and Deaconess' Board
As the chair of the Deacon Board, Deacon Johnson provides assistance to the pastor by caring for the spiritual interests of the church. He also sings on the senior choir and is the chair of the male chorus and is active in the men's ministry singing is his love.
Trustee Charles I. Brown, Sr.- Chair of the Board of Trustees
Trustee Brown takes the responsibility of the chair for the Board of Trustee as his number one priority to the church. He and the other trustees work deligently to protect the property, finances, management, and upkeep of the church. Additionally, Trustee Brown sings on the male chorus and the senior choir and is active in the men's ministry.
Sis. LaTonya White - Music Director
Sis. White provides the leadership for the church choirs and praise team during the worship services. As the music director, she alo works closely with the pastor by scheduling the appropriate choir to accompany him with outside engagements.
Sis. Joyce Johnson Allen Church Treasurer
Under the leadership of Sis. Allen, the finace committee is responsibile for ensuring the ethical handling of all church funds and oversees management of church banking accounts. Sis. Allen is an active participant in many of the church activities. Currently, she also serves as co-chair of the pastor's annual annivesary celebraion, member of the senior choir and praise team.
Sis. Gertrude Coleman - Usher and Financial Secretary
Sis. Coleman serves a dual role in the church as the chair of the Usher Board and financial secretary. Her role as the usher is carried out with a smile when greeting members and visitors alike. As the financial secretary she works cooperatively with the trustees and the treasurer in making sure that the finances are being maintained or disbursed appropriately.
She sings on the senior choir and praise team as well.
Christian Education is organize to support the educational programs of the church and to develop programs and activities that will cultivate a learning environment that will help and encourage persons to seek to develop a right relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Children and Youth Ministry function under the Christian Education Ministry. The purpose of the children and youth ministry is to help them navigate through the social issues that they face on a daily basis. The focus is on teaching biblical solutions to the problems they encounter associated with the moral and social issues. During the year a variety of experiences outside of Sunday school are provided for them to include monthly Friday nigh teen meetings, annual teen lock-in, annual family fun night and Vacation Bible School.
The missionaries functiom as the outreach and helping arm to the church and community by visiting the sick in the hospital, preparing meals for the sick and shut-in. They are also involved in encouraging,lifting up and inspiring bereaved families. Spreading the word of God, however, at the local and state levels is their greatest joy.
In addition to the support provided at the local level, the church also provides staff development to teachers in the schools in Haiti and participate in offering Vacation Bible School in several of the churches in Haiti as well.
The primary function of the media ministry is to facilitate fellowship, worship, discipleship, and evangelism in the church and community by:
Equipping other ministries to use media as an outreach tool.
Using media for worship services and other opportunities.
Spreading God’s word to the electronic driven World.
The vision of the Laurel Hill Men's Ministry is to bring men together as partners in Christ to advance the kingdon of God. We are reaching out to the unsaved and spreading the word of God. The activities below are designed to fellowship with the saved and unsaved by:
providing experiences for saved and unsaved men through fellowship outings.
offering annual men’s conference to glorify God and develop unity.
articipating in church and outside activities that will strengthen the men’s relationship with God.
Laurel Hill Baptist Church has four choirs that sing on designated Sundays and upon request of other churches and or programs. Each choir is encouraged to provide a presentation of a wide range of musical styles that will shift from simply singing songs to ministering the souls through songs. The congregation often looks to the choirs to render music that will soften the hearts and prepare the atmosphere for worship and praise.Music for the third Sunday is given by the adult choir.
The inspirational choir renders the music on the second Sunday.
The young adult choir, which includes the youth sings on the first Sunday of the month.
On the fourth Sunday, the male chrous renders the music.
The women’s ministry strives to fellowship with the women in the church and community as well as reaching out to other churches. The activities are designed to promote Godly growth and stability. The 2012 vision is to create a fellowship and worship environment to get each other more closely connected to Christ, to each other, and to the community.
The activities listed below are designed to support the vision.
Organize a volunteer small group of women and men to meet monthly for thirty minutes, via-tele-conferencing, to pray for the continues spiritual growth and success of the church.
Organize a musical extravaganza involving a variety of groups to encourage church and community enthusiasm.
Sponsor a women’s tea with the focus on “The Integrity of Christian Women”.
Cooperate with the men’s ministry to organize and carry-out an activity involving the members of the church. The activity will consist of teams working together to develop a “Vintage Car Show” for the community.
